Components of the Language Arts program:
7th/8th Grade Langauge Arts - Students are expected to build, maintain and grow in their love of reading and
writing while engaging in the following concepts:
* building a personal library of books read;
* responding to literature and expository text in a variety of formats;
* understanding text structure and utilizing the structures to best take notes in
other core classes;
* reading and writing memoirs, feature articles, and persuasive text(7th);
* reading and writing personal essays, a speech, and persuasive text (8th);
* reading and writing poetry; and
* writing a research report.
